Description
The Drizzle is full bodied and rich with concentrated notes of ripe cherry, mixed berry jam and blackberries. Subtle hints of cardamom and cinnamon spices finish with a delicate touch of smoke. To “Drizzle,” we drain a newly fermented tank of Pinot Noir. The tank is put on a stand and the lower door is slightly opened. Wine from the grape skins is allowed to “drizzle” into a brand-new barrel, which results in a ripe, full-flavored wine. The Santa Maria Valley – of Santa Barbara County – is one of California’s coolest AVAs, with one of the longest growing seasons in the world. The region is defined by its well-drained, lean soils and the unique east/west transverse mountain ranges that act as a funnel for morning fog and cold afternoon winds off the Pacific Ocean, resulting in balanced, vibrant wines.
Fruit flavors of plum, blackberry, and cherry, with hints of minerality on the finish. This wine is well balanced with a long spicy finish.
